Terms of Service

By using Jackie's List (“the App”), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. What Jackie's List Is

Jackie's List is a free, open-source shopping list app that helps you organize groceries, share lists with family, plan meals, and manage your pantry.

2. Your Account

You can use Jackie's List as a guest (no account required) or sign in with Google for cross-device sync and list sharing. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

3. Acceptable Use

Please use Jackie's List for its intended purpose: managing shopping lists and related tasks. Don't:

• Attempt to access other users' data

• Use the app to store harmful or illegal content

• Reverse-engineer or attack the service

• Abuse the sharing system to spam other users

4. Your Content

You retain full ownership of everything you create in Jackie's List. We don't claim any rights to your shopping lists, recipes, or other data.

5. Service Availability

Jackie's List is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep the app running, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. The app works offline for most features, so temporary server issues shouldn't affect your day-to-day use.

6. Limitation of Liability

Jackie's List is a free app maintained by a small team. We're not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to lost data, missed items, or incorrect AI suggestions.

7. AI Features Disclaimer

The optional AI assistant uses Google's Gemini AI (via your own API key). AI suggestions may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Always review AI-generated content before relying on it. We are not responsible for AI outputs.

8. Donations

Jackie's List is free and doesn't have ads or paid features. If you choose to donate, donations are voluntary and non-refundable. Donations don't grant any special access or features.

9. Open Source

Parts of Jackie's List are open source. The app's source code is available under its respective license. Contributing to the project is subject to standard open-source contribution guidelines.

10. Account Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
